Tag: The Virtual Producer's LabI just (finally) wrapped my "first" film "Scrab กค ble" and I'm starting to think of ideas for the next in the trilogy: "Jenga", the suspense. It should be interesting, I plan on having very good production value and many highly refined technical aspects for a dialougeless short.

i just finished directing 'ducks, wallpaper, and cream soda', a short that i made while attending osai (the oklahoma summer arts institute, where i've been for the last 2 weeks). i'll post it as soon as i get back (i'm leaving for vacation in about an hour)
I'm going into production on my first short, "Mercury's Feather" pretty soon. As it is my FIRST short, I'm trying to take everything slow and do it right, learning as I go. I've got the screenplay written. It probably needs a few more revisions (its posted here on VPL if you wanna check it out). But I tried to write it in a way that would be fairly easy to film. (No SFX, simple local locations, etc.) I've got a crew of about 3 or 4 to help and there are 2 main characters and 2 or 3 minor characters. We're trying to ascertain whether 'guerilla' style filming would be best or should we get permissions. For example most of the scenes are at an outside strip mall. Should we go to the property manager and get permission or just shoot quick and leave?
Also I just bought a suction cup camera mount for my car scenes. Any tips/tricks for those?
Next week I am going to start shooting a short that I have been working on for about 4 months now. It is going to be the first thing that I have done which is major. The title is Subject-19 and it takes place in the modern day wolrd during world war III. The story follows the main character Bolden as he is rescued after a battle by a group of scientists who are orking for the government on an antidote to speed up the healing process of wounds. It starts out with Bolden already with the scientists and we find out more about him and his journey throughout the film.
I'm curious to see how this is going to go actually. The biggest thing I have done so far is a film for a local film festival where I recieved scecond. It only had a crew of five people and a cast of two. I wish good luck to all those who are filming this summer.
well I am in preproduction of my next film "A Taste of Armigenden" things on my list, learn how to spell the whole title, also gathering props and waiting for some to come in, swords and chain mail. Have to order some more things, guns etc, and I'm still planning all the shots, aranging locations and trying to get sceduals so that I can set up my shooting plan. Also need to get toghter and start working on the sword fight and pyro effects so that we don't kill ourselves in the middle of filmming. also need to check out my muzzle flash effects, and subtitles, if we still deside to do a few sequences in Latin if we can find a translator for it.
Other then that well its all pre-production, we plan to shot across all of July after people are done with vacations, but before we have to all go back to school.
Writing
'What's Eating You'- A morbid cannibalistic love story focusing around the relationship of the victim and her cannibalistic boyfriend. I know it sounds gimmicky, but it's not. Feature.
'Rejection'- Title change; a script I posted here a while back; tightening up, preparing to film, 1st part of the Love Trilogy.
'Bittersweet Heartbreak'- Pre-script; a surreal love story focusing around(suprise!) a bittersweet heartbreak. Part II of the Love Trilogy
'Loss' (Tentative title)'- Pre-script; part III of the love trilogy, focusing around loss. Still thinking of an idea...
Nothing is currently being filmed or edited.
I'm still rewriting the hell out of SONATA, and I will eventually make it feature lengthed.
Also, I just started writing a screenplay which I plan on filming and staring in this summer, called Deliciously Common.
I will keep you guys updated on both of these.

As of now I've got a couple things being written. One is for the film noir contest, but I'm so sick of it that I'm seriously considering starting from scratch. I've written myself into a mystery not even I can solve, and it's just so contrived...so I'm definintely starting over, right now. I'm also working (now and then) on my feature-length Zombie script...which I'll surely post when I'm done.
As for filming, well, I just finished a documentary for school about crime, and now that it's summer, I guess I'm free to do whatever. Once I can get some time away from my sexy girlfriend, that is...
I've been working hard this summer on getting some movies DONE. Already the tally is up to 3 completed projects (Magic 102.3, Darkest Thoughts, and The Emailman), which is a good pace, but I still think I'm going too slow. Numerous unexpected delays from actors and crew have pushed my next movies back for weeks. Biitches.
Anyway, I've written my next 7 shorts already (more bizarre comedies) and I promise they'll all get done this year - it's just a matter of when. Directing these lo-budget things is harrrrd, particularly during the summer because no one is around.

Main concerns right now are my Film Noir script for the current RT contest and getting Beep Beep made in time for the film festival. Time is short, not sure if I'll make it this year.
I finished a script recently that Im probably going to call "Just Another Art Film" or something along those lines. Its a one take (sort of) film about art. It should be pretty cool, but i gotta get my blasted actors to memorize the script. Also, trying to avoid sexy ex-girlfriend, cuz, well this may sound cliched, but shes bloody PSYCHOTIC.
I started writing a short ensemble movie so I could see out of my friends who were the better actors (so I could use them in my next monster flick), but since only 3 or so of the eight actors I'm going to have is gonna stay in the same city for the summer, it's a dumb idea. But I'm currently trying to get the script written, half of it is done for sure, and all the actors are ready to do their thing.
Planning for my next project to be a monster flick, and I'm running through my mind how to make a monster look frightening and have it in the daytime. It won't be that hard, and will actually be hella fun.
Also, trying to get going in the music scene so I can score my own films, with the help of a buddy who probably finds me ultra annoying with my noob questions.
Other than that, just trying to write four star stuff. Three and a half will not do.
