Do what must be done fox........
I'm going to be out tonight. Does Fox put new episodes up on their website?
Eh, it's yet another "Homer gets random job" episode, but I'll take that as a season premiere over a premiere centred around celebrities playing themselves to show that they don't take themselves too seriously (or so they want us plebians to believe).
I know that King of the Hill also does the occasional "Dale Gribble gets random job" episode (including "bounty hunter"), but at least Dale's self-employed so it's a little less far-fetched.
ZombieBigfoot said it best.
My DVR is set to record the two hour animation domination, while I'm seeing choke.
I've given up. I'm not even going to see if there any gems in this season. It's just gotten far too predictable and boring for me to even care anymore. There's still King of the Hill, at least.
I'm going to watch it.
Damn you mike scully for ruining a defining show of my generation
I'll probably watch it. It's still a decent show(for the most part, anyway.)
Wtf are the writers smoking? That sounds like a synopsis for a Family Guy episode.
This episode was shit. Why do I watch this show week after week, year after year, knowing that I will not laugh?
I didn't mind that episode.
Pop-culture reference overkill for sure, though.

I haven't watched the Simpsons since I was 7. Wow. What happened to the show?
not that bad of an episode...a few good laughs. Still better then what Family guy comes up with(only on season 7)
Just how many mediocre Simpsons episodes have opened with some kind of Springfield festival that has nothing to do with the rest of the episode other than setting up an encounter with a single-episode character?
Another one for the pile.
I'm just too damn dedicated, I guess. I've been watching this show for going on 20 years . . . TWENTY YEARS. That's kind of a long time.
Right now I'm just about over this series, and can no longer generate any excitement over new episode. But I'm pretty much going to stay until the bitter end and hope that they produce a least a handful of great episodes along the way.
Unless it's an old rerun, I'll probably never go out of my way to watch a Simpsons' episode again. I would pay for another Simpsons movie however.
Wow.
I was watching season 4 of The Simpsons last night.
Its fucking tragic what has happened to the show.
I'm not sure what's sadder- that the show has been boring since season 7 or that I'm no longer noticing as much of its decline because it's now been more than half its shelf life set to mediocrity...
One thing I didn't like for sure- St. Patrick's Day theme for the season opener...
I hate shows that lean on holiday themes when their airings are nowhere near the actual date (March, hello?!)
Otherwise, it was lame & vanilla- the only laugh I had was Bart's "Yes sir!!" reply to Homer's advice for his bag of shells (again, we've seen that gift-gag 40x in this series)
