#1 Resident Evil 4
vs.
#5 Super Mario Galaxy
Welcome to the Sweet Sixteen of Video Game Madness VII! This is the stage in the tournament where we begin to sort out the contenders from the pretenders. The match-ups get more competitive and the stakes are high.
Resident Evil 4 is cruising through the tourney so far, but it hasn't faced a franchise heavy-hitter like this yet. Super Mario Galaxy is one of three Mario titles to make an appearance in the Sweet Sixteen, but each title represents a different bit-era and game design. With Resident Evil 5 slowly approaching, this might be Resident Evil 4 last great shot at winning it all before the sequel steals all the spotlight.

You have 2 Days.
Both great games but RE4 easily.
Don't really care about either game but I'll give it to RE4.
Both games took their franchises into new dimensions, but Super Mario Galaxy is way more fun.
A Mario title has to go this round.
Resident Evil 4
For so many reasons RE4 is by far the best choice.
I am leaning towards Mario, but its close.
Resident Evil 4 was an absolutely phenomenal experience that stayed butt-clenchingly intense throughout its entire 15 hour experience. That isn't something you can say about most games.
However, Super Mario Galaxy is my all-time favorite platformer and one of my favorite games of the current-gen. Its level designs are insanely creative, each galaxy has enough charm to last an entire game, and it's just, overall, an absolute blast to play. I never got bored the entire time I was attempting to get all 120 stars.
Not an easy decision, but I'm going Super Mario Galaxy.
Mario must go down! RE4.
I can't believe I just voted for a Wii game.
This is just a cruel matchup
RE4.
This is insanely difficult for me.
wow, tough matchup. SMG, just to even things out a little.
Once again, it boils down to which of these two games that I really love would I want to pick up and play again right now? And the answer is Super Mario Galaxy, easily.
Super Mario Galaxy, the best reason to own a Wii and the most fun I've had with a platformer in a long time.
Galaxy showed a generation saturated in M rated titles that keeping it clean and bubbly can still be epic.
Resident Evil... Foourr.
Galaxy was way fun, but I replayed RE4 endlessly. Great, great game.
Super Mario Galaxy.
Super Mario Galaxy.
Evil Angry Spaniards.
Galaxy is a good game, but it's far, far too conservative. Shame it didn't capitalize on that endlessly fascinating space-theme.
The Winner Is...
RESIDENT EVIL 4
(39-25)
